I use online billing software to invoice my customers. I think that most of you have heard of some billing programs or even tried them. After one year of using online billing software I decided to summarize the most important features that are no more replaced with anything else.

First that I use and that helps me much is status of the invoice. I can’t imagine watching every invoice in order to track due dates. Invoice status shows me the main information of every invoice. In a minute I can find, for example, all non-payers. Those who use online billing software will agree with me, that invoice status is the essential feature.

Not less important in the online billing software is a database. In the database is saved information about all my customers and products. All information is easy accessible. Furthermore, I can create different kind of report, that are based on that information. For example, program can generate a report which shows the most popular products.

Finally my favorite feature is reminders. Reminders are sent for customers, who don’t pay until due date. It is possible to set date, when reminder will be sent out. I set, that reminders are sent out one day before the due date. If my customer still doesn’t pay, another reminder is sent out after 10 days. I can say that this feature is working very efficiently. I almost don’t have non-payers at all.
